Arboriginal Art
The arborigines came to Australia from Asia in prehistoric times. They were divided into 600 tribes, each with its own language and terrory. The aborigines did not cultivate the land but depended on it, being a nomad people who hunted and gathered food.
Since Captain Cook set foot in Australia in 1788 and declared it British terrory, this rich heritage has often been ignored by white Australians. Unlike the United States, Canada, and New Zealand, Australia never signed a treat with its indigenous people. The white man drove the Aborigines from their lands.
